We got there and slathered on the sunscreen then went off to find Jana and her family. It was super hot so the kids wanted to find something that had a short line and would be windy. We ended up on these airplanes. Everyone but Alix had a great time! The airplanes were considered a "big kid ride" so we had to split up. I took Bethany, Miriam went with Rachael, Meagan took Alix, and Ron went with Ashlee. You could control how much they airplane dips and rises, and apparently Meagan was making theirs go ALL OVER THE PLACE. Alix didn't feel all that great after the ride, but I didn't find that out til later.
The next ride they older girls went on was a hydro slide with rafts, but the tube was blacked out and there were neon lights in the tube. Alix and Ashlee went together and were so light they didn't get wet at all, so they were super hot and sweaty by the time they got off. I was in the bathroom with the little girls, so again, I didn't receive this info until later.
The next ride was in the little kid area, and was Bulgy the Whale.
It looked like a fairly boring ride. But, we learned shortly after the ride ended that Alix really DOES take after her parents....
Fortunately, this was the only evidence that day. We were much more careful the rest of the day about which ride the girls went on, and in what order.
Some of their favorites were the boats... especial when Miriam got to ride on the purple boat "that matches my purple pants!" (and no- she is not wearing purple pants here, that is just what she ALWAYS says when the color purple is mentioned...)
Here are Katie (Jeff's daughter) and Alix driving the cars around the track- something they did about twenty times in a row, at least!
Ashlee and Miriam
And Bethany with some random little girl...
The little girls LOVED the airplanes and that they could control whether they went up or down. The only problem was that they each had a controller and kept counteracting each other.
The helicopters were fun too, and bonus for mom- they only had one control to mess with...
Scallywags was a favorite as well- they rode together several times, and then couldn't agree on which one they wanted to be in and split up. Miriam always chose the lady bug, but Bethany moved around.
We don't have a picture of this one because I didn't ant to ruin the camera, but one of the best rides for everyone was called Rattlesnake Rapids. It was a giant raft that we floated down a river on. Lots of rapids and then a waterfall at the end to make sure you're soaked. We actually went on it twice with Ron, Meagan, Rachael, Me, Alix, and Ashlee. The little girls had been upset they couldn't go, but they were under the height limit. When we got up to the ride attendant the second time though I asked if the little girls could go, and she said she would let them on. So, when we got to the part of the river where they were watching us we yelled for Tim to bring them to the line and they would go too... They were SO excited! We had a great time, and MAN were we WET!!!! (and none of us dried out.... the only reason the girls rode home dry was that we changed them into PJ's for the drive home- unfortunately I was still quite wet...)
Alix had a great time on the bumper cars (center in the orange car) but the little girls (behind Alix in the purple cars) had difficulties with this one. They couldn't figure out how to steer and ended up getting quite frustrated. Even though the bumper cars were supposed to be the last ride, we really wanted to end on a positive note, so we ended up taking them on the Carousel too.
All in all we had a great time!
