Polar Bear Club?

We had a church activity tonight that was a dinner and then swimming at an outdoor pool.  The dinner was good, and even though it wasn't a super warm evening, we had promised the kids we would go swimming.  So we decided to get in.  We quickly realized WHY the pool was EMPTY.

It was FREEZING!!!


Even though it was really cold Jonathan grinned the ENTIRE time.  Even as his lip quivered and started changing colors, he grinned...






Alix had a great time and wanted to go all over the place by herself, even though she couldn't swim OR reach the bottom...

You would think the kiddie pool would be warmer since it is shallow and the sun can help more....

You would be wrong...  It was just as cold as the big pool.

Needless to say, since we had no intentions of joining the Polar Bear Club, or of introducing our kids, this was a very short lived trip to the swimming pool.  It was Jonathan's first experience, and he loved it, so we'll have to try again with a heated pool....

This is a random picture I took a few days after our swimming trip, but I thought it was cute.  This is Jonathan's expression every time he gets to sit on Daddy's shoulders.
