Tim got a great big bean bag (really it is foam) for Christmas two years ago.... It is a favorite hang out for the whole family.
We put it next to our (unusable) fireplace with the built-in bookshelves. We spend A LOT of time here reading together! Alix loves to "read" stories to the younger kids....
And they all love to pile on top of mommy for stories....
Plus, it is the only "furniture" they don't get in trouble for jumping on. One of their favorite things to do is for Tim to throw them into the bag. In fact they love it when we "poof the bean-bag" by moving it to clean behind it. it does get significantly higher when we do it, and they LOVE being thrown into to bag to squish it back down :)
